New Heavy Vehicle Driver Training Centre Inaugurated

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol inaugurated the heavy vehicle driver training centre in Prek Pnov district on the morning of 04 Feburary, which aims to reduce accidents and road damage caused by heavy trucks.

HE Chanthol said that the reasons there have been many road accidents in Cambodia are mainly due to drivers, especially those heavy trucks drivers who do not have proper driving skills or the wrong type of driver’s license.

“That is why we decided to establish this centre, hoping it will mitigate those issues,” he added.

HE Chanthol also requested an end to overweight trucks, as they can seriously damage the roads.

This centre is located along National Road No. 5, in Krous Village, Sangkat Samrong, Prek Pnov district. The centre has been set up over 14 months with a budget of approximately US$2 million.
